SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|
citizens of Granbury in mourning the loss of Victor Lee Morriss, |
|
who died October 16, 2024, at the age of 71; and |
|
WHEREAS, Vic Morriss was born February 11, 1953, in Fort |
|
Stockton; he was raised in Talco, and he moved to Arlington for |
|
high school and became the football team's star quarterback; he |
|
went on to play football at Texas Christian University and at The |
|
University of Texas at Arlington, where he earned a bachelor's |
|
degree in business; and |
|
WHEREAS, Known for his confidence and his diligent work |
|
ethic, Mr. Morriss began his professional career as a sports |
|
agent for athletes signing on with the American Football League, |
|
and he had exceptional success as a commercial superintendent |
|
with Lincoln Builders, as well as building homes in Granbury |
|
alongside his beloved wife, Dani, whom he married in 2001; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Morriss shared his faith and passion for |
|
serving others as an active member of Harvest Church, where he |
|
taught children and led a life group for senior citizens, and he |
|
found great joy exploring the outdoors and traveling to visit |
|
family with Dani; and |
|
WHEREAS, A devoted husband, father, and friend, Vic |
|
Morriss leaves behind a legacy of integrity, kindness, and |
|
perseverance that will be treasured by all who were privileged to |
|
share in his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
family of Victor Lee Morriss; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
memory of Vic Morriss. |
