SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  join Texans across the state in celebrating February 25, 2025, as
  Baylor Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, The state's oldest university in continual
  operation, Baylor University was established by an act of the
  Congress of the Republic of Texas on February 1, 1845; and
         WHEREAS, This private Christian university and acclaimed
  Research I institution offers baccalaureate, master's, and
  doctoral degrees that attract thousands of students from Texas
  and around the world; and
         WHEREAS, The university is home to treasured traditions
  and hundreds of student organizations, and many of its
  exceptional athletic programs have won national championships;
  and
         WHEREAS, Baylor University's combination of
  interdisciplinary research and faculty commitment to teaching
  and scholarship has served to create an institution with an
  international reputation for educational excellence, and it is
  indeed fitting that the school's many contributions to higher
  education in Texas be recognized and celebrated; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby commend Baylor University on its commitment
  to educating future leaders and extend to the university's
  students, faculty, and staff best wishes for a memorable and
  rewarding Baylor Day at the State Capitol; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of this special occasion.
