Dorothy Fox |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their |
|
|
memories of Dorothy R. Fox, who passed away on October 29, 2024, |
|
|
at the age of 99; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Eastland County on May 5, 1925, to Thomas |
|
|
Morrell and Zora Eppler Terry, the former Dorothy Terry grew up |
|
|
with the companionship of three siblings, Wanda, Billy, and |
|
|
Tommy; after graduating from Cisco High School, she enrolled |
|
|
at Cisco Junior College, and she went on to work for Western |
|
|
Union and Montgomery Ward; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, On November 21, 1942, she exchanged wedding |
|
|
vows with George Alexander Fox Jr., and she moved with her |
|
|
family to Austin in the early 1950s; Mrs. Fox and her husband |
|
|
shared in the joy of raising two daughters, Carolyn and Pam, |
|
|
and the family relocated from Austin to her hometown of Cisco |
|
|
in 1961 and then to Abilene in 1964; her family eventually |
|
|
grew to include 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and |
|
|
6 great-great-grandchildren, and she spent her later years |
|
|
living with her daughters in Fairfield and Cisco; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A woman of devout faith, Mrs. Fox was a member of |
|
|
several churches over the course of her life, and she and her |
|
|
family even helped to start a congregation when they were |
|
|
residing in Austin; she possessed a gift for music and the |
|
|
ability to play the piano by ear, and she found additional |
|
|
outlets for her creativity in sewing and painting; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dorothy Fox lived a full and generous life |
|
|
surrounded by those she loved, and they will forever carry her |
|
|
close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dorothy R. Fox |
|
|
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
|
|
daughters, Carolyn Robertson and her husband, Danny, and Pam |
|
|
Krabill and her husband, Jim; to her grandchildren, Rhonda |
|
|
Ponder, Dana Brown, Brad, Shaun, and Chris Krabill, Debbie |
|
|
Bartlett, D'Anne Stephenson, and Jay Robertson; to her |
|
|
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; to her |
|
|
brother, Tommy Terry; to her nieces and nephews; and to her other |
|
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
|
|
this day, it do so in memory of Dorothy Fox. |
