R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their |
|
|
memories of Dorothy R. Fox, who passed away on October 29, 2024, at |
|
|
the age of 99; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Eastland County on May 5, 1925, to Thomas |
|
|
Morrell and Zora Eppler Terry, the former Dorothy Terry grew up with |
|
|
the companionship of three siblings, Wanda, Billy, and Tommy; after |
|
|
graduating from Cisco High School, she enrolled at Cisco Junior |
|
|
College, and she went on to work for Western Union and Montgomery |
|
|
Ward; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, On November 21, 1942, she exchanged wedding vows |
|
|
with George Alexander Fox Jr., and she moved with her family to |
|
|
Austin in the early 1950s; Mrs. Fox and her husband shared in the |
|
|
joy of raising two daughters, Carolyn and Pam, and the family |
|
|
relocated from Austin to her hometown of Cisco in 1961 and then to |
|
|
Abilene in 1964; her family eventually grew to include 8 |
|
|
grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 6 |
|
|
great-great-grandchildren, and she spent her later years living |
|
|
with her daughters in Fairfield and Cisco; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A woman of devout faith, Mrs. Fox was a member of |
|
|
several churches over the course of her life, and she and her family |
|
|
even helped to start a congregation when they were residing in |
|
|
Austin; she possessed a gift for music and the ability to play the |
|
|
piano by ear, and she found additional outlets for her creativity in |
|
|
sewing and painting; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dorothy Fox lived a full and generous life |
|
|
surrounded by those she loved, and they will forever carry her close |
|
|
in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
|
hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dorothy R. Fox and extend |
|
|
sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her daughters, |
|
|
Carolyn Robertson and her husband, Danny, and Pam Krabill and her |
|
|
husband, Jim; to her grandchildren, Rhonda Ponder, Dana Brown, |
|
|
Brad, Shaun, and Chris Krabill, Debbie Bartlett, D'Anne Stephenson, |
|
|
and Jay Robertson; to her great-grandchildren and |
|
|
great-great-grandchildren; to her brother, Tommy Terry; to her |
|
|
nieces and nephews; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
|
day, it do so in memory of Dorothy Fox. |
