Charles Williamson |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Charles Alfred |
|
|
Williamson of Tyler were deeply saddened by his death on December |
|
|
20, 2024, at the age of 55; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born on July 6, 1969, to J. C. and Shirley Quick |
|
|
Williamson, Charlie Williamson graduated from Palestine High |
|
|
School; he went on to attend The University of Texas at Tyler, |
|
|
where he earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice; he |
|
|
worked at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, rising to the |
|
|
rank of warden, and he retired after nearly 20 years of dedicated |
|
|
service; he later was employed by Recana Recruiting and Staffing |
|
|
Solutions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Public service was of great importance to |
|
|
Mr. Williamson, and he served as the Rusk County Republican Party |
|
|
Chair from 2012 to 2024; he was also an avid Longhorns fan, and he |
|
|
enjoyed watching college football with his loved ones; a lifelong |
|
|
Methodist, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Allison |
|
|
Plunkett Williamson; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although Charlie Williamson will be deeply |
|
|
missed, he has left his family and friends with a wealth of |
|
|
memories that they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Charles Alfred |
|
|
Williamson and extend sincere condolences to the members of his |
|
|
family: to his children, James "Jay" Williamson and Jenna Kathryn |
|
|
Williamson; to his parents, J. C. and Shirley Williamson; to his |
|
|
father- and mother-in-law, Bill and Sarah Plunkett; to his |
|
|
stepson, William Plunkett, and stepdaughter, Evie Plunkett; to |
|
|
his brother-in-law, Logan Plunkett; and to his many other |
|
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
|
|
this day, it do so in memory of Charlie Williamson. |
