R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Charles Alfred |
|
|
Williamson of Tyler were deeply saddened by his death on December |
|
|
20, 2024, at the age of 55; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born on July 6, 1969, to J. C. and Shirley Quick |
|
|
Williamson, Charlie Williamson graduated from Palestine High |
|
|
School; he went on to attend The University of Texas at Tyler, where |
|
|
he earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice; he worked at the |
|
|
Texas Department of Criminal Justice, rising to the rank of warden, |
|
|
and he retired after nearly 20 years of dedicated service; he later |
|
|
was employed by Recana Recruiting and Staffing Solutions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Public service was of great importance to |
|
|
Mr. Williamson, and he served as the Rusk County Republican Party |
|
|
Chair from 2012 to 2024; he was also an avid Longhorns fan, and he |
|
|
enjoyed watching college football with his loved ones; a lifelong |
|
|
Methodist, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Allison |
|
|
Plunkett Williamson; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although Charlie Williamson will be deeply missed, |
|
|
he has left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that |
|
|
they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
|
hereby pay tribute to the life of Charles Alfred Williamson and |
|
|
extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
|
children, James "Jay" Williamson and Jenna Kathryn Williamson; to |
|
|
his parents, J. C. and Shirley Williamson; to his father- and |
|
|
mother-in-law, Bill and Sarah Plunkett; to his stepson, William |
|
|
Plunkett, and stepdaughter, Evie Plunkett; to his brother-in-law, |
|
|
Logan Plunkett; and to his many other relatives and friends; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
|
day, it do so in memory of Charlie Williamson. |
