R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and purpose drew to a close
  with the passing of Virginia Lee Douglas Wilson of Winnsboro on
  October 18, 2024, at the age of 87; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Virginia Matilda Brumley Douglas and
  Edgar Howard Douglas Jr., the former Virginia Douglas was born in
  Dallas on November 20, 1936, and grew up with the companionship of
  six siblings, Ruth, Billy Paul, Linda, Dorothy Jean, Carolyn, and
  James Howard; she spent her youth in the Old Cypress community and
  graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1955, where she played
  basketball and participated in pep squad and Future Homemakers of
  America; after earning her degree from the Tyler School of
  Business, she worked as the secretary to the president of Jarvis
  Christian College and as a receptionist for Starnes Animal Clinic,
  and she eventually started her own cleaning service business; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Wilson enjoyed the love
  and support of her husband, Marice Densal Wilson, with whom she
  shared a rewarding union of 65 years until his passing in 2021; she
  took great pride in their three children, Ray, Ronny, and Robin, and
  through the years, their cherished family grew to include 8
  grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; her greatest delight was
  spending time with her loved ones and watching them participate in
  activities; she also took pleasure in reading and caring for
  animals, and each year she and her husband looked forward to
  portraying Santa and Mrs. Claus during the Christmas season; and
         WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in this treasured
  woman's love and friendship will always remember her with great
  tenderness and affection; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
  hereby pay tribute to the life of Virginia Lee Douglas Wilson and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  children, Ray Wilson and his wife, Terri, Ronny Wilson and his wife,
  Karla, and Robin Wilson; to her siblings, Ruth Thomas, Billy Paul
  Douglas and his wife, Doylene, and Linda Smith and her husband,
  Jimmy; to her grandchildren, Timothy Wilson and his wife, Jacie,
  Benjamin Wilson and his wife, Brandy, Aaron Wilson and his wife,
  Alisha, Sean Wilson and his wife, Lezlea, Jacquelyn Wilson Younger
  and her husband, Tyce, Claire Wilson Crawford and her husband,
  Joshua, Abigail Wilson Troell and her husband, Hunter, and Peyton
  Wilson; to her 15 great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives
  and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Virginia Wilson.
