R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, On February 5, 2025, representatives from Dallas
  County arts organizations will attend the annual Texas Arts
  Advocacy Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Hosted by Texans for the Arts Foundation, Texas Arts
  Advocacy Day is an opportunity for artists, creative industry
  leaders, administrators, and educators to join together to champion
  strong public policies for the arts; and
         WHEREAS, Home to a thriving arts community, Dallas boasts
  three Texas Cultural Districts as designated by the Texas
  Commission on the Arts: Fair Park, Deep Ellum, and the Dallas Arts
  District, which is the nation's largest contiguous urban arts
  district; among its many cultural institutions are the Dallas
  Museum of Art, the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, the Music
  Hall at Fair Park, and the Latino Cultural Center; the AT&T
  Performing Arts Center is another important hub of activity,
  encompassing three exceptional performance venues: the Winspear
  Opera House, Wyly Theatre, and Strauss Square; and
         WHEREAS, The City of Irving makes a notable contribution to
  the area's arts offerings and benefits from a wealth of
  organizations, including the Irving Black Arts Council and the
  Irving Arts Center, which hosts performances, art exhibits, and
  other activities; moreover, the city counts the Irving Symphony
  Orchestra and the New Philharmonic Orchestra of Irving among its
  performing ensembles; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to enriching the quality of life for
  residents, the arts industry in Dallas County supports thousands of
  jobs, promotes tourism, and makes a significant impact on the local
  economy; and
         WHEREAS, Arts organizations elevate a city's vibrant
  cultural life, and their vital role in the prosperity of the region
  is indeed worthy of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
  hereby recognize the arts organizations of Dallas County on the
  occasion of Texas Arts Advocacy Day and extend to the visiting
  delegation sincere best wishes for a meaningful and memorable trip
  to Austin.
