SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 169
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize A Smokey Initiative BBQ Cook-Off, which is taking place
  in Cleburne and will benefit Veteran's OATH, which primarily
  operates out of Midlothian and Waco; and
 
         WHEREAS, This much-anticipated event is held in
  conjunction with an annual fund-raiser and brings together
  families and barbecue enthusiasts for a day of food, festivities,
  and friendly competition; and
 
         WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Outlaw BBQ Association as one of
  the organization's annual state championship cook-offs, the
  contest attracts highly skilled chefs from across the state and
  beyond; and
 
         WHEREAS, Talented pit masters will put their skills to the
  test as they vie for top marks in categories including brisket,
  spare ribs, and chicken; and
 
         WHEREAS, A fun occasion for attendees of all ages, A Smokey
  Initiative BBQ Cook-Off is a fitting celebration of the tasty
  fare that is an integral part of Texas culture, and it is sure to
  be a source of fond memories for countless residents and
  visitors; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby commend the participants, organizers, and
  sponsors of A Smokey Initiative BBQ Cook-Off and extend best
  wishes to all for a successful and memorable event; and, be it
  further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of the event as an expression of esteem from the Texas
  Senate.
