R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is hosting
  its 40th annual Dallas Blooms festival from February 22 through
  April 13, 2025, providing a fitting opportunity to recognize the
  arboretum for its many achievements; and
         WHEREAS, Located on the shores of White Rock Lake, the Dallas
  Arboretum opened to the public in 1984; it spans 66 acres and
  encompasses a life science laboratory as well as two historical
  buildings, the DeGolyer House and the Alex Camp House; the
  arboretum welcomed more than 1 million visitors in 2023, and its
  many offerings include popular annual events, educational
  programs, and family-oriented activities; in addition,
  groundbreaking horticultural research is conducted at the
  arboretum's Trial Gardens; and
         WHEREAS, The theme for this year's Dallas Blooms festival is
  "Outside the Ordinary," and guests will be able to enjoy impressive
  exhibits with more than 500,000 spring blooming bulbs, including
  350,000 tulips, hyacinths, azaleas, and daffodils; the event will
  also feature work by Seward Johnson, who is known for his life-size
  bronze sculptures, as well as chef demonstrations, creative arts
  and fitness classes, and live piano performances; and
         WHEREAS, For four decades, Dallas Blooms has been a joyous
  celebration of nature and art, and its continuing success is a
  testament to the dedication and creativity of the Dallas Arboretum;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
  hereby commemorate the 40th annual Dallas Blooms festival and
  extend to its organizers sincere best wishes for a successful
  event; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden as an
  expression of high regard by the Texas Senate.
