SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 226

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to recognize College Park Baptist Church in Dallas on the grand occasion of its 60th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, College Park Baptist Church was established in March of 1965 under the spiritual leadership of its founding pastor, the late Reverend Booker T. Watson Sr.; and

WHEREAS, Over the years, the church has ministered faithfully to the needs of innumerable Christians, and it has been an invaluable source of strength for members in times of prosperity and in times of hardship and bereavement; and

WHEREAS, Due to the guidance and wise stewardship of its pastors and the outstanding leadership of its current pastor, the Reverend Carver Adams Sr., the church has continued to grow and to undertake many worthy projects in the community; and

WHEREAS, On March 15, 2025, congregants and guests are initiating the celebration of the church's six decades of spiritual service with a musical extravaganza, and the following day, attendees will gather for a special dinner and anniversary celebration; these events serve as a reflection of the church's enduring commitment to its mission of providing enlightenment and hope to its congregation; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th Legislature, hereby commend the clergy and members of College Park Baptist Church and extend to all best wishes for a memorable and joyous celebration of its 60th anniversary; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the church as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
