SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 227
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Ronald Charles Crossman
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Ronald Charles Crossman, who died
  February 21, 2025, at the age of 91; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Detroit on August 22, 1933, Ron Crossman
  grew up in University Park in Dallas, and he became the first in
  his family to attend college when he enrolled at The University
  of Texas at Austin; while there, he participated in the United
  States Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps and Beta Theta
  Pi Fraternity, and he earned a degree in petroleum engineering in
  1955; and
         WHEREAS, Ron served the nation with honor as a petroleum
  engineer in the United States Air Force with deployments to Libya
  and Italy; after 12 years, he was honorably discharged from the
  Air Force Reserves, and he enjoyed a fulfilling career with Exxon
  until his retirement in 1992; and
         WHEREAS, This devoted family man shared 53 years of
  marriage with his cherished wife, Halene Lipe Crossman, and they
  built a rewarding life together traveling the world, dancing at
  every opportunity, and socializing with friends; he was an
  adoring father to his beloved daughter, Colette, and his twin
  granddaughters, Lyla and Sofia, enriched his life immeasurably;
  and
         WHEREAS, A pillar of his community, Ron gave generously of
  his time and resources to numerous professional and civic
  organizations and was named a Volunteer of the Year by the YMCA of
  Greater Houston; he served as a Republican precinct election
  judge, and he was an active member and respected leader at
  Kingwood United Methodist Church for many years; and
         WHEREAS, Ron Crossman inspired all who knew him through his
  unwavering spiritual faith, his gentle spirit, and his boundless
  love for his family; he was a treasured citizen, and he leaves
  behind memories that will long be cherished by all who were
  privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Ronald Charles Crossman; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Ron Crossman.
