SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
commemorates the life of Ronald Charles Crossman, who died |
|
February 21, 2025, at the age of 91; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Detroit on August 22, 1933, Ron Crossman |
|
grew up in University Park in Dallas, and he became the first in |
|
his family to attend college when he enrolled at The University |
|
of Texas at Austin; while there, he participated in the United |
|
States Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps and Beta Theta |
|
Pi Fraternity, and he earned a degree in petroleum engineering in |
|
1955; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ron served the nation with honor as a petroleum |
|
engineer in the United States Air Force with deployments to |
|
Libya and Italy; after 12 years, he was honorably discharged from |
|
the Air Force Reserves, and he enjoyed a fulfilling career with |
|
Exxon until his retirement in 1992; and |
|
WHEREAS, This devoted family man shared 53 years of |
|
marriage with his cherished wife, Halene Lipe Crossman, and they |
|
built a rewarding life together traveling the world, dancing at |
|
every opportunity, and socializing with friends; he was an |
|
adoring father to his beloved daughter, Colette, and his twin |
|
granddaughters, Lyla and Sofia, enriched his life immeasurably; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, A pillar of his community, Ron gave generously of |
|
his time and resources to numerous professional and civic |
|
organizations and was named a Volunteer of the Year by the YMCA of |
|
Greater Houston; he served as a Republican precinct election |
|
judge, and he was an active member and respected leader at |
|
Kingwood United Methodist Church for many years; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ron Crossman inspired all who knew him through |
|
his unwavering spiritual faith, his gentle spirit, and his |
|
boundless love for his family; he was a treasured citizen, and he |
|
leaves behind memories that will long be cherished by all who |
|
were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
family of Ronald Charles Crossman; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
memory of Ron Crossman. |
