SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the members of the Limón family for their many
  contributions to the Austin community; and
         WHEREAS, José Limón migrated from Mexico in 1889 and
  settled in Central Texas with his wife Bernavé to raise their 11
  children; since then, the family has grown to around 5,000
  members, and their influence is evident in many of the economic,
  social, and political matters occurring in the Austin area; and
         WHEREAS, Noted for their entrepreneurial expertise and
  community activism to improve the lives of their neighbors, the
  voices and livelihoods of Limón family members have helped to
  create opportunities for countless Austinites to thrive; they
  have played an integral role in the area for 135 years, and many
  relatives still live in East Austin on or nearby their namesake
  street, Calle Limón; and
         WHEREAS, Each year, hundreds of Limónes gather for a
  family reunion to celebrate their rich history and to honor their
  motto, "Siempre Unidos", which has strengthened their family's
  bond for more than six generations; and
         WHEREAS, Exemplary citizens who hold in high regard the
  traditional values and family heritage they share, the members of
  the Limón family have contributed greatly to Austin and to the
  Lone Star State through their leadership, their civic
  engagement, and their spirit of resilience, and it is truly
  fitting that the family receive special recognization for all
  they have done to benefit their community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Limón family for
  their indominable spirit and the prominent role they have played
  in Austin and extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the family as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
