SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The observance of Collin College Day at the State
  Capitol on March 13, 2025, offers a welcome opportunity to honor
  the academic excellence of this noteworthy institution as it
  celebrates its 40th anniversary; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 1985, Collin College has steadily
  expanded to meet the needs of the region, which now ranks among
  the fastest-growing in the nation; today, the institution serves
  more than 60,000 students at 10 campuses, including the iCollin
  Virtual Campus; and
         WHEREAS, Collin College offers over 200 degrees and
  certificate programs, including baccalaureate degrees in clinical
  operations management, construction management, cybersecurity, and
  nursing, as well as workforce programs designed to prepare students
  for high-wage, high-demand careers; and
         WHEREAS, While promoting academic excellence, Collin
  College has maintained the lowest in-district tuition in the
  state, has among the highest student success rates, and has
  gained national recognition for affordability; as a
  community-centered institution, it also strives to foster
  innovation, character, and a tradition of service; and
         WHEREAS, Collin College has successfully cultivated a
  vibrant student life; its active Student Government Association
  has received numerous accolades as a member of the Texas Junior
  College Student Government Association, Region II; moreover, the
  robust athletics program encompasses both men's and women's
  basketball, tennis, and golf; in 2024, the Lady Cougars won the
  National Junior College Athletic Association Region V Tournament
  for the first time in the college's history and went on to compete
  in the national tournament; the men's basketball team captured
  the 2024 title in the North Texas Junior College Athletic
  Conference; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of four decades, Collin College
  has provided generations of students with a strong foundation for
  achievement in higher education, and in so doing, it has
  contributed significantly to the prosperity and vitality of the
  Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th Texas
  Legislature, hereby recognize March 13, 2025, as Collin College
  Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome and best wishes
  to the visiting delegation.
