SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 255
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  James Burns
 
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of James Rondal Burns of Pittsburg on February 3, 2025,
  at the age of 83; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Oscar and Mary Sue Lainey Burns, James
  Burns was born in Pittsburg on April 1, 1941; he grew up with the
  companionship of his siblings, and he graduated from Pittsburg
  High School in 1960; answering his nation's call to duty, he
  served for three years as a member of the Army National Guard; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Burns distinguished himself over the course
  of a successful career as a business owner; moreover, he was a
  prominent member of the Thoroughbred Racehorse Association; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Burns enjoyed the love
  and support of his wife, Sue, with whom he shared a rewarding
  marriage that spanned more than three decades; he was the devoted
  father of six children, Kim, Kendal, Kyle, Dwaina, David, and
  Daniel, and he took great pride in his 17 grandchildren and 12
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Although James Burns will be deeply missed, he has
  left his loved ones with a wealth of memories that they will
  forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of James Rondal
  Burns and extend heartfelt condolences to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Sue Burns; to his children, Kim Pilgrim and
  her husband, Mark, Kendal Burns and his wife, BuLinda, Kyle Burns
  and his wife, Tina, Dwaina Kerr and her husband, Dave, David
  McClure and his wife, Terri, and Daniel McClure and his wife,
  Niki; to his grandchildren, Clayton, Blevin, Bryce, Kole,
  Taylor, Brittany, Reid, Logan, Jessica, Garrett, Cristy, Drew,
  Adam, Emily, Ian, Morgan, and Cade; to his great-grandchildren,
  Caroline, Wyatt, Brayson, Braylee, Ashton, Beckham, Ainsley,
  Emerson, Beaux, Lawson, Rory, and Parker; and to his other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of James Burns.
