R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
  memories of Theodore August Swenson Jr. of Bullard, who passed away
  on January 19, 2025, at the age of 92; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Tyler on December 7, 1932, Ted Swenson was
  the son of Theodore and Ella Mae Swenson, and he grew up with the
  companionship of his sister, Rubena; after attending schools in
  Tyler, he graduated from Kemper Military School in Boonville,
  Missouri, and he went on to earn a bachelor's degree from the
  University of Houston; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Swenson served in the United States Navy as an
  electronics technician aboard the USS Orion; he then embarked on
  his civilian career as a chemist, eventually working his way up to
  management for Dow Chemical in Freeport before retiring in 1990;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Swenson married the former Esther Leigh in 1958,
  and they became the proud parents of two sons, Stuart and Danny;
  following Mrs. Swenson's passing in 1998, Mr. Swenson was
  fortunate enough to find love again with Martha Smith, whom he wed
  in 2000, and he had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to
  include six stepchildren, Teresa, Mari, Gina, Michael, David, and
  Stephen; he also cherished his two granddaughters, Kaylene and
  Cassie, his great-granddaughter, Avery, and a host of
  step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; in his leisure
  time, he enjoyed spending time with his wife at their cabin in Lake
  City, Colorado, as well as playing golf, hunting, fishing, and
  traveling; he was a dedicated member of Marvin Methodist Church,
  where he served as an usher for two decades, and Emerald Bay
  Community Church; and
         WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Ted Swenson
  leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far
  richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured
  place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
  hereby pay tribute to the life of Theodore August Swenson Jr. and
  extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Ted Swenson.
