SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 283
         WHEREAS, Sherman County and District Clerk Laura Rogers
  played a critical role in saving the life of a fellow citizen at
  the State Capitol on May 29, 2024; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Rogers, a former paramedic, was attending a
  Texas Senate hearing on the day of the incident when she noticed a
  man experiencing a health emergency; after helping to move the
  man to the floor, she began a medical assessment and determined
  that he had a faint pulse; she then initiated CPR and requested an
  automated external defibrillator, which she subsequently used
  three times; and
         WHEREAS, Upon the arrival of EMS personnel, Ms. Rogers
  provided them with essential information, and the man was taken
  to a nearby hospital for further treatment; ultimately, he was
  able to make a full recovery; and
         WHEREAS, Through her skill and quick thinking, Laura
  Rogers helped to avert a potential tragedy, and she is truly
  deserving of special recognition for her outstanding efforts;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby commend Laura Rogers for her lifesaving
  actions on May 29, 2024, and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Rogers as an expression of high regard from the
  Texas Senate.
