R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Sherman County and District Clerk Laura Rogers |
|
played a critical role in saving the life of a fellow citizen at the |
|
State Capitol on May 29, 2024; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Rogers, a former paramedic, was attending a |
|
Texas Senate hearing on the day of the incident when she noticed a |
|
man experiencing a health emergency; after helping to move the man |
|
to the floor, she began a medical assessment and determined that he |
|
had a faint pulse; she then initiated CPR and requested an automated |
|
external defibrillator, which she subsequently used three times; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Upon the arrival of EMS personnel, Ms. Rogers |
|
provided them with essential information, and the man was taken to a |
|
nearby hospital for further treatment; ultimately, he was able to |
|
make a full recovery; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through her skill and quick thinking, Laura Rogers |
|
helped to avert a potential tragedy, and she is truly deserving of |
|
special recognition for her outstanding efforts; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
hereby commend Laura Rogers for her lifesaving actions on May 29, |
|
2024, and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Rogers as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
Senate. |
