R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Sherman County and District Clerk Laura Rogers
  played a critical role in saving the life of a fellow citizen at the
  State Capitol on May 29, 2024; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Rogers, a former paramedic, was attending a
  Texas Senate hearing on the day of the incident when she noticed a
  man experiencing a health emergency; after helping to move the man
  to the floor, she began a medical assessment and determined that he
  had a faint pulse; she then initiated CPR and requested an automated
  external defibrillator, which she subsequently used three times;
  and
         WHEREAS, Upon the arrival of EMS personnel, Ms. Rogers
  provided them with essential information, and the man was taken to a
  nearby hospital for further treatment; ultimately, he was able to
  make a full recovery; and
         WHEREAS, Through her skill and quick thinking, Laura Rogers
  helped to avert a potential tragedy, and she is truly deserving of
  special recognition for her outstanding efforts; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
  hereby commend Laura Rogers for her lifesaving actions on May 29,
  2024, and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Rogers as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  Senate.
