SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 329
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The State of Texas is steadfast in its commitment |
|
|
to private property rights, and since 1920, Texas REALTORS has |
|
|
worked as a professional association to protect private property |
|
|
ownership and the rights of property owners; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Texas REALTORS maintains its position as the |
|
|
largest professional membership association in Texas, and its |
|
|
more than 140,000 members are engaged in every aspect of the |
|
|
state's diverse real estate interests, including farm and ranch, |
|
|
property management, and international, residential, and |
|
|
commercial real estate; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Real estate and housing are essential to our state |
|
|
and local economies, with each property purchase contributing |
|
|
thousands of dollars through construction, jobs, and expenses; |
|
|
in 2024, the real estate industry in Texas accounted for 17.8 |
|
|
percent of the state's gross domestic product, or approximately |
|
|
$469.2 billion; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Realtors are grassroots advocates who embody |
|
|
professionalism in the real estate industry; they adhere to a |
|
|
strict code of ethics that demands competence, fairness, and a |
|
|
high level of integrity in their field; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, As vital contributors to their local towns and |
|
|
cities, Realtors in Texas are deeply invested, actively engaged, |
|
|
and dedicated to shaping vibrant, flourishing communities where |
|
|
Texans live, work, and prosper; to that end, Realtors continue to |
|
|
demonstrate their incredible abilities to help all Texans |
|
|
achieve the dream of homeownership; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During each Texas legislative session, thousands |
|
|
of Realtors convene at the State Capitol to meet with their |
|
|
elected officials and discuss issues that are critical for |
|
|
ensuring that Texas remains the best state in which to own or |
|
|
lease real property; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby recognize March 26, 2025, as REALTOR Day at |
|
|
the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the visiting |
|
|
delegation; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the association as an expression of high regard from |
|
|
the Texas Senate. |
