SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 343

WHEREAS, The annual Bear Bottom BBQ Bash and Cook-Off is taking place in Marshall on September 19 and 20, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Outlaw BBQ Association as one of the organization's state championship cook-offs, this much-anticipated event attracts talented chefs from across Texas and beyond; and

WHEREAS, These highly skilled pitmasters are putting their culinary abilities to the test as they vie to produce the tastiest entries in several different categories, including brisket, pork spareribs, and chicken; and

WHEREAS, A fun occasion for all ages, the Bear Bottom BBQ Bash and Cook-Off is a fitting celebration of the delectable fare that is such an integral part of Texas culture, and it promises to be a source of fond memories for all who attend; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature hereby commemorate the 2025 Bear Bottom BBQ Bash and Cook-Off and extend to the organizers, contestants, and attendees sincere best wishes for a fun and successful event.
