R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Poka Lambro Telephone Cooperative is celebrating |
|
|
its 75th anniversary in 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1950, Poka Lambro provides reliable |
|
|
telephone service and high-speed internet to rural communities in |
|
|
West Texas; the company's service area spans 4,200 square miles |
|
|
from south of Lubbock in the lower Panhandle to north of Midland in |
|
|
the Permian Basin; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, One of the leading telecommunications companies in |
|
|
the Southwest, Poka Lambro delivers products and services to a |
|
|
number of businesses in the agriculture and petroleum industries; |
|
|
in addition, the company makes a positive impact through its |
|
|
Community Giving Initiative, which provides financial support to |
|
|
local nonprofits, and it awards scholarships to high school |
|
|
seniors; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For three quarters of a century, Poka Lambro has |
|
|
contributed to the economic prosperity of the West Texas area and |
|
|
beyond, and the foundation of good corporate citizenship on which |
|
|
it is built will help to ensure its existence well into the future; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
|
hereby commemorate the 75th anniversary of Poka Lambro Telephone |
|
|
Cooperative and extend to the company's leadership and staff |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Poka Lambro as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas Senate. |
