SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  join the Texas African American Lawyers Foundation in
  celebrating African American Lawyer Day at the State Capitol on
  April 8, 2025; and
         WHEREAS, A recently established nonprofit organization,
  the Texas African American Lawyers Foundation was created to
  champion the advancement and empowerment of African American
  attorneys, judges, and legal professionals across the state; and
         WHEREAS, This new advocacy platform was conceived by
  former chairs and board members of the African American Lawyers
  Section of the Texas State Bar to engage with lawmakers and
  address legislation that directly affects African American
  lawyers, to provide leadership training and mentoring to current
  and emerging legal professionals, and to develop a robust and
  collaborative network of legal experts who are committed to
  enacting meaningful change; and
         WHEREAS, Members of the foundation advocate policies and
  programs that are essential to the success of African American
  legal professionals in today's society, and all associated with
  the organization are truly deserving of recognition; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby welcome members of the Texas African
  American Lawyers Foundation and extend to them best wishes for a
  memorable African American Lawyer Day at the State Capitol; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the foundation as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
