SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize the Greater Dallas Section of the National Council of |
|
|
Jewish Women on 112 years of outstanding public service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1913, the Greater Dallas Section of |
|
|
the National Council of Jewish Women has worked tirelessly to |
|
|
improve the lives of women, children, and families through |
|
|
advocacy, education, and community service; inspired by Jewish |
|
|
values, the organization is committed to advancing social |
|
|
justice and ensuring a more equitable society for all; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the past century, the organization has |
|
|
played a crucial role in addressing pressing issues such as |
|
|
reproductive rights, voting rights, human trafficking |
|
|
prevention, and access to education; through its numerous |
|
|
initiatives, the organization has championed policies that |
|
|
promote fairness, safety, and opportunity for the most |
|
|
vulnerable members of society; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to its advocacy efforts, the |
|
|
organization has formed partnerships with more than 300 agencies |
|
|
and coalitions to help establish meaningful programs that |
|
|
directly assist those in need, including initiatives that |
|
|
provide school supplies for children, support survivors of |
|
|
domestic violence, and offer legal assistance to immigrants and |
|
|
refugees; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For 112 years, the Greater Dallas Section of the |
|
|
National Council of Jewish Women has been a powerful force for |
|
|
good, and its members have worked diligently to uphold the |
|
|
organization's mission of social justice and service; their |
|
|
efforts have enriched countless lives and have helped build a |
|
|
more just and compassionate society; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend the Greater Dallas Section of the |
|
|
National Council of Jewish Women for its outstanding |
|
|
contributions and recognize its 112 years of service; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
the organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas |
|
|
Senate. |
