SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
commemorates the life of Connie Jane Hunt, who died February 28, |
|
2025, at the age of 88; and |
|
WHEREAS, Connie Jane Prince was born in Memphis, |
|
Tennessee, on March 7, 1936; she married Ed Hunt on October 30, |
|
1954, and the couple shared a rewarding union that spanned more |
|
than seven decades; they were blessed with a son, Corbin, who |
|
preceded his mother in death; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Hunt lived in locations around the world |
|
while her husband served in the military, and she held office |
|
jobs wherever he was stationed; the couple later settled in the |
|
Magnolia Beach community of Calhoun County, where they lived for |
|
three decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, An engaged citizen, Mrs. Hunt was actively |
|
involved in the Calhoun County Republican Club,and she served as |
|
a mentor to many of its members and fostered connections with |
|
Republicans across the state; she helped the We the People |
|
program at Calhoun High School to establish a field trip |
|
experience where students travel to visit the State Capitol and |
|
learn more about the legislative process; a woman of strong |
|
faith, she also gave freely of her time and talents to her church |
|
community throughout her life; and |
|
WHEREAS, A beloved member of her community, Connie leaves |
|
behind many special memories that will be forever cherished by |
|
her family and friends and by all who were privileged to share in |
|
her life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family of |
|
Connie Jane Hunt; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
memory of Connie Hunt. |
