SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Alyssa Barrera Mason for her outstanding contributions |
|
|
to the City of Corpus Christi during her years of service as |
|
|
executive director of the Corpus Christi Downtown Management |
|
|
District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Driven to make a positive difference in her |
|
|
hometown, Alyssa Mason earned a master's degree in public |
|
|
administration and a bachelor's degree in business |
|
|
administration from Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; she |
|
|
went on to earn certifications in economic development, and she |
|
|
served her fellow citizens in a variety of roles in local |
|
|
government before she was hired to her current position at the |
|
|
Corpus Christi Downtown Management District in 2018; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Alyssa's exemplary tenure of leadership has |
|
|
facilitated more than $100 million in development and |
|
|
revitalization projects in downtown Corpus Christi, and she has |
|
|
established incentive programs to increase economic growth and |
|
|
expand public art awareness, such as the monthly ArtWalk and the |
|
|
Mural Program; she has led her staff by example and cultivated |
|
|
lasting partnerships to improve and preserve the city's thriving |
|
|
downtown community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Alyssa was honored as an Emerging Leader in 2022 |
|
|
by the International Downtown Association; she has set lasting |
|
|
standards for excellence at the Corpus Christi, Downtown |
|
|
Management District, and her presence will be greatly missed; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Alyssa Barrera Mason on her |
|
|
outstanding career and her many contributions to Corpus Christi |
|
|
and extend to her best wishes in all her future endeavors; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
