SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
|
commemorates the life of Louise Mauro Strauch, who died on |
|
|
January 23, 2025, at the age of 97; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Louise was born on January 14, 1928, in |
|
|
Montgomery, Alabama, and she moved with her family to Dallas as a |
|
|
young girl; she grew up there and resided in Dallas until |
|
|
marrying at the age of 18; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lou, as she was affectionately known, and Frank |
|
|
Mauro, her late first husband, relocated to Bryan in 1946, and |
|
|
they were blessed with four children; she and Frank enjoyed 32 |
|
|
years of marriage together until the time of his passing in 1978, |
|
|
and the family lived in more than 25 cities over the years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Years after Frank's passing, Lou was blessed to |
|
|
again find love and married Charlie Strauch, and they shared many |
|
|
joyous years together traveling the world and visiting with |
|
|
family and friends, including many trips to her beloved vacation |
|
|
home in Crested Butte, Colorado; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lou's Catholic faith guided her in her daily life |
|
|
and throughout hardships, seasons of blessings, and many moves to |
|
|
new cities and parishes; regardless of where she lived, she was |
|
|
always involved in her community and the church, and her |
|
|
generosity and kindness made a positive and lasting impact in the |
|
|
lives of innumerable people; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Above all, Lou cherished spending time with her |
|
|
loved ones; her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, |
|
|
and great-great-grandchild were each a source of pride and joy to |
|
|
her and enriched her life immeasurably; she gave unselfishly to |
|
|
others, and her wisdom, warmth, and enthusiasm for life will be |
|
|
treasured forever by all who were privileged to share in her |
|
|
life; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
|
family of Louise Mauro Strauch; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
|
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
|
memory of Lou Mauro Strauch. |
