R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dr. Christine Ramos Camacho is serving as Physician
  of the Day at the State Capitol on April 22 and 24, 2025; and
         WHEREAS, Since 1971, the Physician of the Day program at the
  State Capitol has provided for a doctor to be on call each day of a
  legislative session as a resource for legislators and support
  staff; family physicians travel from all over the state to
  volunteer their time and expertise at the Capitol health clinic;
  and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Camacho will be joined in her service by
  resident physician Dr. Auguste Ramos on April 22, 2025, and by
  medical student Elliana Yap on April 24; and
         WHEREAS, A Laredo native, Dr. Camacho earned her master's
  degree in molecular biology from The University of Texas at
  San Antonio and her medical degree from the San Juan Bautista
  School of Medicine in Puerto Rico; she went on to complete the
  family medicine residency program at The University of Texas Health
  Science Center at San Antonio, which she now serves as an assistant
  professor and a clinical instructor; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout her residency training, Dr. Camacho
  participated in research projects related to prediabetes, tobacco
  cessation, health literacy for immigrants, and COVID-19 provider
  wellness; her findings were presented and recognized at a number of
  state and national conferences, and her dedicated efforts merited
  her the distinction of Third Year Resident of the Year in 2021;
  dually board certified in family and obesity medicine, she
  continues to pursue opportunities for research and community
  engagement; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of her career, Dr. Christine Camacho
  has provided skilled and compassionate care to her fellow Texans,
  and it is indeed fitting to honor her for her service to the
  legislative community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
  hereby commend Dr. Christine Ramos Camacho for her participation in
  the Physician of the Day program and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Camacho as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas Senate.
