SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  join the people of Haltom City in recognizing the veterans who
  honorably served our nation during the Vietnam War and to pay
  tribute to them on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the
  war's end on April 30, 2025; and
         WHEREAS, The fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975, marked the
  conclusion of the Vietnam War, one of the longest military
  conflicts in United States history; the Americans and allied
  forces who served made great personal sacrifices, and many faced
  unique and significant challenges upon returning home; and
         WHEREAS, During the complex and challenging conflict,
  three million United States service members served in Southeast
  Asia, and more than 58,000 made the ultimate sacrifice, including
  3,416 Texans; and
         WHEREAS, The men and women who served the nation during the
  Vietnam War embodied the values of courage, sacrifice, and
  devotion to duty that our country so esteems, and their heroic
  actions have left an indelible mark in the annals of American
  history; and
         WHEREAS, The commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the
  end of the Vietnam War in Haltom City offers an opportunity to
  honor the contributions of the American military service members
  who devoted themselves to serving their country and to reflect on
  the human cost of war; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby commend the veterans of the United States
  Armed Forces who served during the Vietnam War on their
  extraordinary sacrifices and service to our nation; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Haltom City in honor of this occasion as an expression of respect
  and remembrance from the Texas Senate.
