SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Dr. Bhavana Mocherla, who is serving as Physician of |
|
|
the Day at the State Capitol on May 14, 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each day of a legislative session, a member of the |
|
|
Texas Academy of Family Physicians volunteers valuable time away |
|
|
from their practice to assist legislators and support staff at |
|
|
the Capitol health clinic; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Inspired to pursue medicine due to the lack of |
|
|
women in the profession in India, Dr. Mocherla earned a doctor of |
|
|
medicine degree from Lady Harding Medical School in New Delhi; |
|
|
she pursued certification as a Physician Assistant at |
|
|
Philadelphia University and practiced for a number of years |
|
|
before completing her residency at the Texas Tech University |
|
|
Health Science Center Permian Basin, where she served as the |
|
|
chief resident; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Mocherla currently serves as the Regional |
|
|
Medical Director at the Innovista Medical Center in Houston, and |
|
|
her commitment to community is showcased by her involvement with |
|
|
the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and the American Board |
|
|
of Family Medicine; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A highly regarded medical professional and an |
|
|
esteemed member of her community, Dr. Mocherla exemplifies the |
|
|
highest ideals of the medical profession, and it is indeed a |
|
|
pleasure to welcome her to the Capitol; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Bhavana Mocherla on her |
|
|
participation in the Physician of the Day program and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
