R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Stephanie Brady is retiring from Texas Health and |
|
Human Services on June 27, 2025, drawing to a close an exemplary |
|
career with the agency that has spanned more than two and a half |
|
decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of the DeBakey High School for Health |
|
Professions in Houston, Mrs. Brady went on to earn a sociology |
|
degree from Rice University and a master's degree in nursing from |
|
The University of Texas at Austin; in 1998, she began her career |
|
with HHS at Austin State Hospital, where she worked for 10 years as |
|
a staff nurse, charge nurse, and shift supervisor; subsequently, |
|
she was a direct care nurse and case manager with the Abilene State |
|
Supported Living Center; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 2012, Mrs. Brady moved to Von Ormy and |
|
transferred to San Antonio State Hospital; over the course of her |
|
tenure at SASH, she has served as a staff nurse, nurse manager, and |
|
a nurse administrator; in her current role as a nurse |
|
administrator, she oversees four forensic psychiatric units that |
|
treat patients from the Bexar County Jail system; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Brady enjoys the love and |
|
support of her husband, J. D. Brady; she looks forward to spending |
|
more time traveling and sailing in her retirement; and |
|
WHEREAS, Stephanie Brady has devoted her entire career to |
|
helping people with mental health issues, and in so doing, she has |
|
made a positive difference in the lives of many fellow Texans and |
|
earned the lasting respect and admiration of her colleagues; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
hereby congratulate Stephanie Brady on her retirement from Texas |
|
Health and Human Services and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Brady as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
Senate. |
