SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 504

WHEREAS, Diego Flores, a member of the Ego eSports Club in Corpus Christi, distinguished himself through his impressive performance at LVL UP EXPO 2025, held April 25 to 27; and

WHEREAS, Joining other top esports players from around the globe in Las Vegas, Nevada, Mr. Flores competed in the supermajor-ranked tournament for the video game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate; playing under the username "Skinny The Pooh," he finished tied for 25th place out of 675 total participants with an overall record of 7 wins and 2 losses; and

WHEREAS, During the tournament, Mr. Flores earned an upset over "acola," the top-ranked player from Japan; to secure this victory, he achieved a significant comeback in the final game of the match, resulting in a decisive win; and

WHEREAS, This dedicated esports competitor has excelled through skill, hard work, and determination, and he may reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th Legislature, hereby congratulate Diego Flores of the Ego eSports Club on his success at LVL UP EXPO 2025 and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for Mr. Flores as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
