SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 517
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Maria Yuliana Soria Chavez has distinguished |
|
|
herself in her responsibilities as a legislative aide and policy |
|
|
specialist intern in the office of State Senator Roland Gutierrez |
|
|
during the 89th Legislative Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Soria Chavez has |
|
|
provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of |
|
|
challenging tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in |
|
|
the field of public service, she has learned more about the |
|
|
legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone |
|
|
Star State; among her many responsibilities, she has worked with |
|
|
constituents and advocacy groups, conducted research on |
|
|
legislative issues, and tracked and analyzed policy |
|
|
developments, bills, and voting records; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Arizona State University, Ms. Soria |
|
|
Chavez holds a bachelor's degree in criminology and criminal |
|
|
justice and a second bachelor's degree in Spanish linguistics; |
|
|
she is currently attending The University of Texas at Austin |
|
|
Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, where she serves as |
|
|
marketing coordinator for the LBJ Latino Policy Research |
|
|
Symposium; in addition, she is a member of the 2025 Texas |
|
|
Legislative Internship Program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Maria Yuliana Soria Chavez has performed her |
|
|
duties as a legislative aide and policy specialist intern with |
|
|
skill and dedication, and she is indeed deserving of special |
|
|
recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Maria Yuliana Soria Chavez for her |
|
|
service as a legislative aide and policy specialist intern in the |
|
|
office of State Senator Roland Gutierrez and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Soria Chavez as an expression of high regard |
|
|
from the Texas Senate. |
