R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Maria Yuliana Soria Chavez has distinguished |
|
herself in her responsibilities as a legislative aide and policy |
|
specialist intern in the office of State Senator Roland Gutierrez |
|
during the 89th Legislative Session; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Soria Chavez has |
|
provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging |
|
tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of |
|
public service, she has learned more about the legislative process |
|
and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; among her |
|
many responsibilities, she has worked with constituents and |
|
advocacy groups, conducted research on legislative issues, and |
|
tracked and analyzed policy developments, bills, and voting |
|
records; and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Arizona State University, Ms. Soria |
|
Chavez holds a bachelor's degree in criminology and criminal |
|
justice and a second bachelor's degree in Spanish linguistics; she |
|
is currently attending The University of Texas at Austin Lyndon B. |
|
Johnson School of Public Affairs, where she serves as marketing |
|
coordinator for the LBJ Latino Policy Research Symposium; in |
|
addition, she is a member of the 2025 Texas Legislative Internship |
|
Program; and |
|
WHEREAS, Maria Yuliana Soria Chavez has performed her duties |
|
as a legislative aide and policy specialist intern with skill and |
|
dedication, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for |
|
her fine work; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
hereby commend Maria Yuliana Soria Chavez for her service as a |
|
legislative aide and policy specialist intern in the office of |
|
State Senator Roland Gutierrez and extend to her sincere best |
|
wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Soria Chavez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas Senate. |
