Cooper Dawson |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt |
|
|
at the loss of Cooper Steven Dawson of the Greenville Police |
|
|
Department, who tragically died in the line of duty on |
|
|
November 26, 2024, at the age of 28; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Bedford on December 20, 1995, to Steven |
|
|
and Marisa Dawson, Cooper Dawson grew up with the companionship |
|
|
of his two sisters, Kristen and Ashley; prior to joining the |
|
|
Greenville Police Department, he was a police officer with the |
|
|
City of Garland; throughout his career in law enforcement, he |
|
|
demonstrated a courageous spirit and a steadfast dedication to |
|
|
protecting and serving his community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Officer Dawson was known for his magnetic |
|
|
personality, his open heart, and his delightful sense of humor; a |
|
|
family man, he enjoyed creating lasting memories with those |
|
|
closest to him; in all his endeavors, he benefited from the love |
|
|
and support of his wife, Aubrey, and their three children, Ayden, |
|
|
Parker, and Kody; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Devoted to his family and to the community he |
|
|
served so valiantly, Cooper Dawson lived a caring and purposeful |
|
|
life, and he leaves behind a legacy that will long be treasured by |
|
|
his loving family and all who held him dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Officer Cooper |
|
|
Steven Dawson and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his |
|
|
family: to his wife, Aubrey Dawson; to his children, Ayden, |
|
|
Parker, and Kody Dawson; to his parents, Steven and Marisa |
|
|
Dawson; to his sisters, Kristen Dawson and her partner, Micah, |
|
|
and Ashley Sandoval and her husband, Kegan; to his grandfather, |
|
|
Randy Wright; and to his many other relatives and friends; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
|
|
this day, it do so in memory of Cooper Dawson. |
