R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Education Service Center Region 19 is hosting |
|
|
the inaugural Texas Spanish Spelling Bee on June 18 and 19, 2025; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Taking place at the Starlight Event Center in |
|
|
El Paso, this unique linguistic competition brings together |
|
|
fourth- through eighth-graders from across Texas; in addition to |
|
|
demonstrating their spelling skills, these exceptional students |
|
|
have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sponsored |
|
|
activities celebrating the rich culture of El Paso; the top |
|
|
competitors in the state contest will advance to the National |
|
|
Spanish Spelling Bee in Albuquerque, New Mexico; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Fostering confidence, academic excellence, and |
|
|
cultural exchange among participants, the Texas Spanish Spelling |
|
|
Bee serves as a showcase for some of the best spellers in the state, |
|
|
and it promises to be an enriching and memorable experience for |
|
|
Texas students, educators, and families; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
|
hereby recognize the week of June 16, 2025, as Texas Spanish |
|
|
Spelling Bee Week and extend to the competition's organizers and |
|
|
participants sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and successful |
|
|
event. |
