R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Boerne Little League All-Stars achieved great
  distinction by advancing all the way to the U.S. championship game
  of the 2024 Little League Baseball World Series; and
         WHEREAS, A group of talented 12-and-under ballplayers, the
  All-Stars began their journey by winning the Texas West title, a
  first for the team; the squad then delivered a triumphant
  performance at the Southwest Region Tournament in Waco; in the
  finals, the Boerne players trailed Louisiana 3-0 before a grand
  slam ignited a comeback, and they punched their inaugural ticket to
  the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, with
  a 6-3 victory; and
         WHEREAS, On August 15, Boerne made its World Series debut
  against Newtown, Pennsylvania, dominating in the 9-0 win with
  powerful hitting and superb pitching; in their second contest, the
  All-Stars were locked in a 1-1 tie against Florida before a
  three-run third inning fueled a 4-1 triumph; next facing Henderson,
  Nevada, they scored twice in the opening frame and sealed a 5-2
  decision to clinch a spot in the U.S. title contest; and
         WHEREAS, With a trip to the World Series final on the line,
  Boerne met Florida again on August 24; the All-Stars turned in a
  valiant effort but ultimately fell short, ending their impressive
  17-game winning streak and then competing in the third-place game;
  although the Texas players were narrowly defeated by Venezuela in a
  hard-fought matchup, they closed out their unforgettable season as
  the fourth-highest placing squad in the LLBWS, setting a new
  standard of excellence for the program; and
         WHEREAS, Excelling with a true team effort, Boerne received
  valuable contributions throughout its campaign from each member of
  the roster: Dylan Burke, Ben Burkhart, Kaleb Christ, Gray Collins,
  Caden Guffey, Cooper Hastings, Julian Hurst, Jett Matthews, Doc
  Mogford, Aiden Muñoz, Kole Newson, and Gage Steubing; these
  determined athletes were ably guided by coaches Jonathan Collins
  and Bert Muñoz and manager Justin Newson; and
         WHEREAS, The members of the Boerne Little League All-Stars
  proudly represented their city and state in one of the premier
  showcases for youth athletics, and they will treasure their
  memories of this accomplishment for many years to come; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
  hereby congratulate the Boerne Little League All-Stars on advancing
  to the 2024 Little League Baseball World Series U.S. championship
  game and extend to the team's players and coaches sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  Senate.
