SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 566
         WHEREAS, Myra Virani of Girl Scout Troop No. 407 has
  attained the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this accomplishment truly
  merits recognition; and
         WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Virani demonstrated
  creativity, initiative, and leadership in completing a Take
  Action project that has resulted in lasting and positive change;
  seeking to improve learning outcomes in English classes at
  Jamshed Memorial School in Pakistan, she designed a website with
  the assistance of volunteers that has provided the school's
  teachers with ongoing access to supplemental educational
  materials; in assessing the efficacy of her initiative, she noted
  improved retention among students who had utilized the website's
  resources; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Virani further distinguished herself in her
  studies at Hebron High School in Carrollton, and she graduated as
  a member of the Class of 2024; and
         WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging
  young women to explore educational and career opportunities and
  to become more socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is
  helping its participants to achieve their greatest potential as
  engaged citizens and leaders; and
         WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Virani has
  demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest
  ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may reflect with pride on a job
  well done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby congratulate Myra Virani on her receipt of
  the Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes
  for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Virani as an expression of high regard from the
  Texas Senate.
