R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Myra Virani of Girl Scout Troop No. 407 has attained |
|
the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this accomplishment truly merits |
|
recognition; and |
|
WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Virani demonstrated |
|
creativity, initiative, and leadership in completing a Take Action |
|
project that has resulted in lasting and positive change; seeking |
|
to improve learning outcomes in English classes at Jamshed Memorial |
|
School in Pakistan, she designed a website with the assistance of |
|
volunteers that has provided the school's teachers with ongoing |
|
access to supplemental educational materials; in assessing the |
|
efficacy of her initiative, she noted improved retention among |
|
students who had utilized the website's resources; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Virani further distinguished herself in her |
|
studies at Hebron High School in Carrollton, and she graduated as a |
|
member of the Class of 2024; and |
|
WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging |
|
young women to explore educational and career opportunities and to |
|
become more socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is helping |
|
its participants to achieve their greatest potential as engaged |
|
citizens and leaders; and |
|
WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Virani has |
|
demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest |
|
ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may reflect with pride on a job |
|
well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
hereby congratulate Myra Virani on her receipt of the Girl Scout |
|
Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Virani as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
Senate. |
