R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Speranza Coyle-Cross of Girl Scout Troop No. 7435 |
|
has attained the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this accomplishment |
|
truly merits recognition; and |
|
WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Coyle-Cross |
|
demonstrated creativity, initiative, and leadership in completing |
|
a Take Action project that has resulted in lasting and positive |
|
change; after careful research and planning, she revitalized a |
|
neglected area of Limestone Quarry Park by planting native species |
|
that will stabilize the landscape and attract pollinators essential |
|
to its ecosystem; in addition to improving the park's physical |
|
appearance, the initiative promotes environmental awareness, |
|
conservation, and responsible land care; moreover, the City of |
|
Frisco and local gardening groups have committed to maintaining the |
|
area, ensuring that the project will be sustained for years to come; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging |
|
young women to explore educational and career opportunities and to |
|
become more socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is helping |
|
its participants to achieve their greatest potential as engaged |
|
citizens and leaders; and |
|
WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Coyle-Cross |
|
has demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the |
|
highest ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may reflect with pride on |
|
a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
hereby congratulate Speranza Coyle-Cross on her receipt of the Girl |
|
Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Coyle-Cross as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas Senate. |
