SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 569

WHEREAS, Kaitlyn Dollar of Girl Scout Troop No. 3792 has attained the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this accomplishment truly merits recognition; and

WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Dollar demonstrated creativity, initiative, and leadership in completing a Take Action project that has resulted in lasting and positive change; for her project, she installed two spawning beds at South Lakes Park Pond to create a safe, sustainable space for fish to live, feed, hide, and reproduce; in addition to supporting aquatic life and strengthening biodiversity, the habitat promotes ecological responsibility and awareness within the surrounding community; and

WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging young women to explore educational and career opportunities and to become more socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is helping its participants to achieve their greatest potential as engaged citizens and leaders; and

WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Dollar has demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th Legislature, hereby congratulate Kaitlyn Dollar on her receipt of the Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for Ms. Dollar as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
