SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 570

WHEREAS, Lilian Johnson of Girl Scout Troop No. 5674 has attained the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this accomplishment truly merits recognition; and

WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Johnson demonstrated creativity, initiative, and leadership in completing a Take Action project that has resulted in lasting and positive change; she developed the "Walk With God" Bible study plan to provide a platform for teenagers to explore scripture firsthand and to engage with their faith in a supportive environment encouraging spiritual growth; the project was launched through her church's website, Sunday services, and home groups, and it was further promoted at Girl Scout meetings and on Instagram; and

WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging young women to explore educational and career opportunities and to become more socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is helping its participants to achieve their greatest potential as engaged citizens and leaders; and

WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Johnson has demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th Legislature, hereby congratulate Lilian Johnson on her receipt of the Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for Ms. Johnson as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
