R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Brooklyn Dimatteo of Girl Scout Troop No. 6797 has
  attained the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this accomplishment truly
  merits recognition; and
         WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Dimatteo demonstrated
  creativity, initiative, and leadership in completing a Take Action
  project, Rise of the Marching Raccoons, that has resulted in
  lasting and positive change; partnering with the Frisco High School
  Band and a team of volunteers, she organized and led monthly
  workshops designed to expose seventh- and eighth-grade students to
  music performance and foundational marching techniques; and
         WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging
  young women to explore educational and career opportunities and to
  become more socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is helping
  its participants to achieve their greatest potential as engaged
  citizens and leaders; and
         WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Dimatteo has
  demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest
  ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may reflect with pride on a job
  well done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
  hereby congratulate Brooklyn Dimatteo on her receipt of the Girl
  Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Dimatteo as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas Senate.
