SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 575

WHEREAS, Isabella Dowdall of Girl Scout Troop No. 5674 has attained the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this accomplishment truly merits recognition; and

WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Dowdall demonstrated creativity, initiative, and leadership in completing a Take Action project, Stories to Success, that has resulted in lasting and positive change; in an effort to promote youth literacy, she partnered with the North Texas Performing Arts-Frisco summer camps, presenting two themed books to elementary-school children and incorporating hands-on activities that deepened their connection to the stories and enhanced their learning experience; and

WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging young women to explore educational and career opportunities and to become more socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is helping its participants to achieve their greatest potential as engaged citizens and leaders; and

WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Dowdall has demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th Legislature, hereby congratulate Isabella Dowdall on her receipt of the Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for Ms. Dowdall as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
