R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Laurel Steger of Girl Scout Troop No. 7580 has
  attained the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this accomplishment truly
  merits recognition; and
         WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Steger demonstrated
  creativity, initiative, and leadership in completing a Take Action
  project, Remembering the Moments: Alzheimer's Decade Boards, that
  has resulted in lasting and positive change; in an effort to
  stimulate the memories of residents of Eagle Ridge Alzheimer's
  Special Care Center, she conducted decade-themed sessions with them
  that incorporated historical timelines, crafts, movement-based
  games, music, and snacks; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Steger has further distinguished herself as a
  member of the Class of 2027 at John H. Guyer High School in Denton;
  and
         WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging
  young women to explore educational and career opportunities and to
  become more socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is helping
  its participants to achieve their greatest potential as engaged
  citizens and leaders; and
         WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Steger has
  demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest
  ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may reflect with pride on a job
  well done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
  hereby congratulate Laurel Steger on her receipt of the Girl Scout
  Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Steger as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  Senate.
