SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize May of 2025 as Save Your Tooth Month to educate Texans
  about the importance of maintaining proper oral hygiene and
  preserving natural teeth for optimal oral health, which impacts
  patients' overall health and well-being; and
         WHEREAS, Each year, more than 25 million teeth are
  preserved through endodontic treatments, including 15 million
  root canal procedures; saving natural teeth promotes improved
  appearance and the maintenance of essential functions such as
  chewing and speech; and
         WHEREAS, As highly skilled dental specialists,
  endodontists excel in diagnosing and treating tooth pain and
  infection through such life-changing endodontic procedures as
  root canals, trauma dental injuries, vital pulp therapy, and
  apicoectomy to safeguard patients' natural teeth; with three
  additional years of training after dental school, endodontists
  utilize advanced technology and specialized care to best treat
  tooth pain and infection; and
         WHEREAS, An endodontist typically dedicates their dental
  practice exclusively to endodontic treatments and performs an
  average of 25 root canal treatments weekly; they frequently
  collaborate with general dentists to ensure comprehensive dental
  care, and they employ a specialized approach that leads to better
  health outcomes and swift recovery for patients; and
         WHEREAS, Teeth are a vital component of nutrition,
  emotional expression, and overall health, and neglecting oral
  hygiene can lead to various health complications; regular dental
  visits, thorough brushing and flossing twice daily, and avoiding
  cavity-causing foods and habits are essential steps in
  maintaining gum, teeth, and mouth health; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby recognize May of 2025 as Save Your Tooth
  Month, commend endodontists as leaders dedicated to providing
  essential dental health care, and encourage the citizens of Texas
  to practice good oral hygiene to save their natural teeth; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of this occasion.
