R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The passing of Cody Dylan Hodges of Omaha on May 9,
  2025, at the age of 38, has brought an immeasurable loss to his
  family and friends; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Damon and Donna Hodges, Cody Hodges was
  born in Mount Pleasant on August 5, 1986, and he grew up with the
  companionship of three siblings, Julie, Seth, and Caleb; as a young
  man, he took part in bull-riding competitions through the
  Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association; he later became an
  accomplished roper, participating in the U.S. Team Roping
  Championships and the World Series of Team Roping; and
         WHEREAS, A man of strong faith, Mr. Hodges served as deacon of
  the youth ministry at Naples Church of Christ, where he found great
  joy in sharing the gospel; he was active in the wider community as
  well, volunteering with the Omaha Parks and Recreation Association
  and coaching Pee Wee football, Little Dribblers basketball, and
  Little League baseball; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Hodges benefited from the
  love and support of his wife, Stevie, and he took great pride in
  their son, Wesley; above all, he cherished time spent with his
  family, especially traveling to the mountains and the beach and
  attending Dallas Mavericks games; his favorite leisure activities
  included hunting, snow skiing, and water skiing; and
         WHEREAS, Cody Hodges led a life of caring devotion to his
  loved ones, and although he is deeply missed, his spirit will
  forever live in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
  hereby pay tribute to the memory of Cody Dylan Hodges and extend
  sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Stevie Hodges; to his son, Wesley Hodges; to his parents, Damon and
  Donna Hodges; to his grandfather, Gerald Knight; to his siblings,
  Julie Reynolds and her husband, Dustin, Seth Hodges and his wife,
  Erin, and Caleb Hodges and his wife, Megan; to his nephews, Isaac,
  Cutter, Boone, Brody, and Dooley Hodges and Jackson and Barrett
  Roberts; to his nieces, Maguire and Tatum Reynolds, Wylie Jo and
  Texi Belle Hodges, and Shelby Mitchell; and to his other relatives
  and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Cody Hodges.
