Shirley Gilbreath |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their |
|
|
memories of Shirley Lee Watson Gilbreath, who passed away on |
|
|
October 19, 2024, at the age of 72; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of John Lee Watson and Ira Jeter, the |
|
|
former Shirley Watson was born in Tyler on July 4, 1952, and she |
|
|
grew up with the companionship of a sister, Linda; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gilbreath enjoyed the love and support of her |
|
|
husband, Robert, with whom she shared a rewarding marriage that |
|
|
spanned 42 years; she was a nurturing mother to their three |
|
|
children, Monica, Jerry Lee, and Sean, as well as to her bonus |
|
|
son, Russell; over the years, her treasured family grew to |
|
|
include eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to her family, Mrs. Gilbreath |
|
|
spent countless hours sharing stories and supporting them in all |
|
|
of their endeavors, and she was always ready with a listening ear |
|
|
and words of advice; she also had a profound love for animals, |
|
|
caring for numerous pets over the course of her lifetime; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although Shirley Gilbreath is deeply missed, the |
|
|
passage of time will never diminish the kindness and joy that she |
|
|
brought into the lives of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Shirley Lee |
|
|
Watson Gilbreath and extend sincere condolences to the members of |
|
|
her family: to her husband, Robert Gilbreath; to her children, |
|
|
Monica Bailey and her husband, Derrick, Jerry Lee Tucker, and |
|
|
Sean Tucker and his wife, Angel; to her bonus son, Russell Terry; |
|
|
to her grandchildren, Joshua, Amber and her husband, Chase, |
|
|
Nathan and his wife, Samantha, Brooke and her husband, Jonathan, |
|
|
Brian, Kirstin, and Maddison; to her great-grandchildren, Ethan, |
|
|
Jace, Gracelynn, Winry, Emilee, Ella, Blakeney, Charlee, and |
|
|
Evie; to her best friend, Cheryl Tucker; and to her many other |
|
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
|
|
this day, it do so in memory of Shirley Gilbreath. |
