R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their |
|
memories of Shirley Lee Watson Gilbreath, who passed away on |
|
October 19, 2024, at the age of 72; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of John Lee Watson and Ira Jeter, the |
|
former Shirley Watson was born in Tyler on July 4, 1952, and she |
|
grew up with the companionship of a sister, Linda; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gilbreath enjoyed the love and support of her |
|
husband, Robert, with whom she shared a rewarding marriage that |
|
spanned 42 years; she was a nurturing mother to their three |
|
children, Monica, Jerry Lee, and Sean, as well as to her bonus son, |
|
Russell; over the years, her treasured family grew to include eight |
|
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to her family, Mrs. Gilbreath spent |
|
countless hours sharing stories and supporting them in all of their |
|
endeavors, and she was always ready with a listening ear and words |
|
of advice; she also had a profound love for animals, caring for |
|
numerous pets over the course of her lifetime; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Shirley Gilbreath is deeply missed, the |
|
passage of time will never diminish the kindness and joy that she |
|
brought into the lives of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
hereby pay tribute to the memory of Shirley Lee Watson Gilbreath and |
|
extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her |
|
husband, Robert Gilbreath; to her children, Monica Bailey and her |
|
husband, Derrick, Jerry Lee Tucker, and Sean Tucker and his wife, |
|
Angel; to her bonus son, Russell Terry; to her grandchildren, |
|
Joshua, Amber and her husband, Chase, Nathan and his wife, |
|
Samantha, Brooke and her husband, Jonathan, Brian, Kirstin, and |
|
Maddison; to her great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jace, Gracelynn, |
|
Winry, Emilee, Ella, Blakeney, Charlee, and Evie; to her best |
|
friend, Cheryl Tucker; and to her many other relatives and friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
day, it do so in memory of Shirley Gilbreath. |
