SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Port Neches-Groves High School Unified track and
  field team on winning the 2025 Unified Track and Field University
  Interscholastic League State Championship on April 25, 2025; and
         WHEREAS, Unified track and field is a program under the
  University Interscholastic League and Special Olympics Texas
  that promotes social inclusion by enabling students with and
  without intellectual disabilities to train and compete together
  on the same team; and
         WHEREAS, The Port Neches-Groves Unified team has
  demonstrated exceptional dedication, teamwork, and
  sportsmanship in earning this prestigious title, and these young
  athletes can take pride in their outstanding accomplishments;
  and
         WHEREAS, As the only school in the area with a Unified
  team, Port Neches-Groves has set an inspiring example for other
  schools and communities across the state to incorporate Unified
  sports into their athletics programs and to foster greater
  leadership, connection, health, and shared achievement among all
  students; and
         WHEREAS, The Unified track and field team are a source of
  tremendous pride to the students, coaches, and faculty of Port
  Neches-Groves High School and the Port Nueces, Groves, and
  surrounding communities, and the team members are indeed worthy
  of special recognition for their hard work and their outstanding
  performances during the track and field season; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby congratulate the Port Neches-Groves High
  School Unified track and field team on winning the 2025 state
  championship and extend to all of the team's athletes and coaches
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
